Generating submission links is fast and simple.
Easily select which documents to ask your client for, categorize the request, select a few options and you’re on your way!
Categories are a flexible way of organizing your submissions by product, by reason, or by group.
It’s completely configurable by your administrator and can be set up with default document selections, central notification emails, as well as other options to make your team even more efficient.
Choose which documents to ask for
You can request one or more identity documents from the person to verify, but as a general rule we always recommend selecting ‘Selfie’.
Remember, less is better. For example, if you only need a selfie and drivers license, don’t ask for more than that.
Some use cases require that PDF of business licenses or similar be uploaded for review. Contact us to enable feature this on your account.
Activate notifications and receive an email once your client has completed their submission. The agent which generated the link will receive notification when completed, or you can set a central email to receive notifications.
Be dressed illustration
Your clients personal safety matters.
One of our options is a friendly reminder for your users that in today’s flexible, always-on, work from home world, it’s a good idea to remind them “You’ll be on camera, put some clothes on!”.
Once you’re happy with the options, a unique submission link is generated with a click, then you’re ready to send the link to the person you’re validating.
The link can be sent to your client any way you’d like. It can send by txt message, you can email it, post it to chat, etc.
With our API, your developers can easily build this into your own website.
Send and wait
Once you’ve sent the link to your client, all you need to do is wait for the client to complete the submission process.
The client can submit in their own time which means you do not have to review submissions live as they come in.
Your team doesn’t need to keep the same schedule as your clients.
It’s pretty straightforward – The validation process consists of visually analyzing the submitted documents side-by-side. Compared to valid clients, bad actors trying to sneak past often stand out like sore thumb.
The timeline is where you can scroll through pictures which are captured during the client submission process.
Often you’ll be able to tell if it’s a real person in a glance, just by passing your mouse over a movie like series of images. The changing images will help you pick up on subtle clues which may have been otherwise missed.
Need a closer look?
By moving your pointer over the pictures you can see even more details to help you validate the submission.
Validate the submission
If all the pieces of the puzzle look correct, then you can pass the submission. The submission will be stored only as long as you need it to be retained, then automatically deleted.
Or Fail the submission
If things don’t look right, fail the submission and ask them to do a second submission, or if things look really questionable, stop what you’re doing and cancel the transaction.

Take a Selfie
You’ve probably done this several times. Point the camera to your face a snap your real self. You can smile :]
Not every organization will ask for a selfie, but we always advise that “you” will be on camera, so don’t be surprised if you see “you” but aren’t asked for a selfie.
Photograph ID documents
Many times organizations will ask for single piece of documentation, but sometimes, they will need a second piece of ID or documentation.
You may be asked to show your credit card, passport, driver’s license, or similar.
Send your documents for review
At this point, you need to wait to be validated by the company you’ve sent the documents to. The review process is done by a real person and completed by the organization requesting your documents.
It’s usually pretty fast.
Remember, Validation.com does not review your ID, we help organisations to it themselves.

Why do I need to submit my ID?
There are many reasons companies and organizations will ask their clients to submit identity documents. Often the merchant is just doing a quick ID check.
Think of when you’re at a department store and make a purchase with a credit card. When you make the purchase, the cashier may request to see a piece of Identification to verify it’s your credit card.
Is it safe to submit my identity documents?
While it’s true that nothing can be absolutely secure, Validation is dedicated to ensuring that our service is safe. External firms are hired to conduct compliance audits and conduct security testing on a regular basis.
From the moment you start visiting Validation your visit is secured by SSL level encryption. When taking pictures, these pictures are transmitted over the internet using the same SSL encryption standard that every e-commerce site uses when you use a credit card to make a purchase.
Once on our servers, the documents are further encrypted, and access to your ID is strictly restricted to specific people within the merchant partner’s company.
If “Acme & Co” requests that you submit your ID, only specific people at Acme & Co can access your ID.
Validation.com and it’s employees can not see your ID.
Finally, every merchant interaction with your ID is logged by Validation to help prevent abuse by our merchant partners.
Can I upload my ID?
It is only possible to upload your documents when one of validation.com’s partners has specifically requested you to do so.
Most organizations will not enable this unless they are requesting a document such as a business license.
Can I email a copy of my ID or fax a copy of my ID?
I don’t recognize the company who requested my ID.

What can be seen when using my webcam?
A series of pictures are taken from the webcam feed for the requestor to review.
The images are captured at your standard camera resolution.
Why does it say “You” even though I didn’t need to do a selfie?
When going through the submission process, we always show “you” in the list of items we’re taking a picture of.
Even if a selfie is not requested by the organization, we still show this as notification and reminder that you may be visible on the webcam during the document submission process.
I don't have a government issued ID what do I do?

Many organizations may request to see the back of a document as part of their due diligence process.
It is not uncommon.
When will I know if my submission has been approved?
Each organization has a different policy for communicating with their consumers.
