Have You Been Asked For KYC Documents?
Asked To Submit Documents?
Submitting Documents
A variety of organizations may ask you to validate your identity before signing up for a service or buying a product. While some services and products have age or location restrictions, others need to collect information related to Know Your Customer or KYC regulations.
Validation offers a comprehensive document submission service with security controls which would be very difficult for most companies to do independently.
We make the document submission process simple, highly secure and fast. You’ll be done before you know it.

Take a selfie
You’ve probably done this several times in your life. Point the camera to your face and take a picture. You can smile :]
Not every organization will ask for a selfie. However we always advise that you'll be on camera when completing a submission.
Photograph ID documents
Depending on the reason you’re submitting documents, you may be asked to provide a secondary form of identification, utility bills, or other types of documents.
Send your documents for review
Once you've finished your submission the documents will be validated by the company you’ve submitted to. The review process is done by a real person and completed by the organization requesting your documents. It’s usually pretty fast. Validation does not review your ID, we help organizations review it themselves and keep it safe.

Your security comes first
At Validation, we take your security and your documents’ security very seriously. We engage the services of multiple third party security testing companies to maintain a strict audited level of PCI Service Provider Level 1 compliance.
For more than a decade, the PCI Security Standards Council has defined standards for protecting credit card information. This level of comprehensive security has been outlined by American Express, Discover, JCB International, MasterCard, Visa Inc, and others through the PCI security counsel.

A layer of organizational responsibility
Validation is a convenient and highly secure method for collecting and managing sensitive documents. It’s a safer approach to document collection than existing methods like email or support tickets.
By using to use a service specifically designed for this purpose, they have decided to treat you and your documents with the respect and security you deserve.
Responsible retention and deletion
Validation always advises partner companies to keep documents only as ling as are required and no longer.
Each company can specify exactly how long the need to retain submitted documents. The deletion process is automated so documents are not stored indefinitely without reason.
GDPR
Validation was designed to adhere to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) guidelines set forth by the European Union. A European data center is provided as the default option to partners when creating an account with Validation specifically to address the needs of European partners and their clients.
We are unable to assist you directly. For any and all GDPR inquires, please contact the organization requesting your documents.
Attention to internal and external security
Validation’s focus on security is not exclusively on external threats. From internal security logs to limiting who may access to submitted data, granular controls are in place to help deter bad actors no matter where they come from.
We are independently tested by security companies and are audited annually to ensure maintained PCI service provider level 1 compliance and your safety.
Why validating clients is needed
You may be asked to provide a driver’s license or photo identification card, a credit card, or previous documents such as utility bills. All of this is done to protect the organization and you.
Some everyday actions like opening a bank account require our partners to collect specific regulatory documents. Other times, in the same way as at retail stores, some products are more at risk of fraud and require additional security.
Validation cannot see your documents
We are committed to protecting the confidentiality of your submitted documents. Our service was designed specifically so that our staff cannot view documents submitted to our partners.
Validation does not review submissions on behalf of it's partners and it's not possible for us to share any information regarding submission processing times, submission status, decision or reasoning with people who have submitted documents.
Why do I need to submit my ID?
There are many reasons companies and organizations will ask their clients to submit identity documents.
Often the merchant is just doing a quick ID check. Think of when you’re at a department store and make a purchase with a credit card.
When you make the purchase, the cashier may request to see a piece of Identification to verify it’s your credit card.
Is it safe to submit my identity documents?
Yes.
While nothing is absolutely secure, Validation is dedicated to ensuring that our service maintains the highest security standards. We hire external firms to conduct compliance audits and conduct security testing on a regular basis.
From the moment you start visiting Validation your visit is secured by SSL level encryption that protects your privacy and security. When taking pictures, these pictures are transmitted over the internet using the same SSL encryption standard that every e-commerce site uses when you use a credit card to make a purchase.
Once the images are uploaded to our servers, documents are further encrypted. Each merchant partner also adds a layer of security by strictly restricting access to specific people within their company.
If “Acme & Co” requests that you submit your ID, only specific people at Acme & Co can access your ID. Every merchant interaction with your ID is logged by Validation to help prevent abuse by our merchant partners.
Validation and it’s employees can not see your ID.
Can I upload my ID?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to upload your document unless one of our partners has specifically requested you to do so.
Most organizations will not enable this unless they are requesting a specific document such as a business license.
Can I email a copy of my ID or fax a copy of my ID?
At this time, Validation does not allow email or faxed copies of identification to be submitted.
I don’t recognize the company who requested my ID.
You should always understand why you are being asked for documents, for example if you’ve made a purchase or registered with a site, this is understandable.
However, if you have never been in contact with the company requesting documents, you should confirm why the documents have been requested before submitting. IF you receive a request from a company that you’ve never had contact with, do not send any documents and please contact [email protected]
Can I delete my submitted ID?
Only the company which requested your documents can delete them. For deletion requests, please contact the organization you submitted your documents to directly.
Validation does not have any ability to delete submissions.
Who can see my submitted ID?
Only specific people directly associated with the organization which requested your documents will have access to view your documents.
Validation staff do not have the ability to view submissions.
What can be seen when using my webcam?
A series of pictures are taken from the webcam / camera feed for the requestor to review.
All images are captured at your standard camera resolution.
Why does it say “You” even though I didn’t need to do a selfie?
The submission process uses your cell phone or computer webcam. Because of this, when going through the submission process, we always show “you” in the list of items we’re taking a picture of.
Even if a ‘selfie’ is not requested by the requesting organization, we still show “you” as notification and reminder that you may be visible on the webcam during the document submission process.
I don't have a government issued ID what do I do?
Validation is an submission tool and is unable to assist with issues of this nature.
Please contact the company which requested that you submit documents directly.
My webcam doesn't work. What can I do?
Validation submission links are compatible across devices.
If the webcam on your computer does not work the submission process is fully compatible with smartphones and vice versa. Please open the link on a secondary device with internet connection and a camera.
Why do they need to see the back of my drivers license?
Many organizations may request to see the back of a document as part of their due diligence process.
It is not uncommon.
When will I know if my submission has been approved?
Each organization has a different policy for communicating with their consumers. Most will not advise directly of results unless there is an issue with the photo quality and a second submission is required.
Validation does not have insight to the review process or polices of the organizations which use us.
Please direct all questions of this nature to the party which requested your documents, Validation does not reply to user inquires.
