2FA (two factor authentication)

Table of Contents

Under no circumstance will the staff of Validation ask you for a 2FA code.

Never share 2FA codes with anyone, ever.

Two-factor Authentication or “2FA” is an important tool used to protect you and the people you’ve asked to submit documentation.

In understandable terms, 2FA is a process where a second temporary password is needed in addition to your regular password to help verify that the person logging into an account is the same person who created it. You’re likely familiar with receiving a text message with numbers you need to enter into a website when changing your password or doing something sensitive.

At Validation, in order to verify people who are logging into our service, we use 2FA as well, but we use a version which requires that you download an app to generate passwords rather than receive text messages. The app based version of 2FA process is much more secure and there is a good chance you already have an app installed on your phone.

If you don’t have an app on your phone, we recommend Google Authenticator, but there are a variety of other services which offer the same service.

My two-factor authentication is not working what do I do?

A new code is required for each login and each code is only valid for 30 seconds.

Please ensure that you’re using a newly generated code each time you log into Validation and that your browser is not filling the form with auto-complete.

If you continue to have issues, please contact customer support.
